. April 1999: QM’s Department and the Regimental Training Wing relocated and the whole of the RHQ moved into new accommodation in Bock B, Wentworth Barracks. The new headquarters was officially opened on 4 May 2000 .

2000.06.01 Northern Ireland: 2nd Regiment RMP was redesignated 6th Regiment RMP; this was to enable the re-use of the 2 RMP title with the new Regiment which had been formed and linked to 2nd Division.  6 RMP comprised: On 1 April 2000 all three Brigades in NI became responsible for the command and administrative task of looking after their own RMP personnel and in the case of 3 and 8 Brigades it appears the provost units were integrated into HQ 3 Inf Bde & Sig Sqn and HQ 8 Inf Bde & Sig Sqn respectively.  In the case of 39 Bde it appears the RMP were absorbed into a new 39 Brigade Operational Support Platoon .

Operation Banner ended on 31 July 2007 and with it 38 years of RMP support in the Province. 6th Regiment Royal Military Police based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland disbanded on this date leading to fresh challenges, presented as a consequence of Normalisation. Primary amongst them has been the need to convert from an Operational posture to that of support to a regional garrison. Key is the rebirth of 173 Provost Company, which formed on 1 August 2007, part of 3 RMP, delivering operational support to 19 Light Brigade. .
