1 Apr RHQ 33rd Field Regiment RA at ? Bks, Trowbridge was re-titled RHQ 24th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, with 2, 51 and 128 LAA Btys redesignated from 101, 109 Fld Btys and 113 Bty of 113/114 Fld Bty (pers from 113/114 Fld Bty), respectively (51 Bty ex cadre).

 

1948

England: ? Bks, Trowbridge with 2, 51 and 128 LAA Btys. 1 September reduced to cadre. 15 September Reformed as 24th Heavy Air Defence Regiment RA

 

1949 - 1954

England: Garrison Bks, Sheerness with 2 (Hoath Lane Camp) Gillingham, 51 and 128 HAA Btys.

 

1950

England: Garrison Bks, Sheerness with 2 (Hoath Lane Camp) Gillingham, 51 and 128 HAA Btys.

 

1955

England: Garrison Bks, Sheerness with 2 (Hoath Lane Camp) Gillingham, 51 and 128 HAA Btys. 15 April reduced to cadre at Sheerness. 2 July reformed at Durranhill Camp, Carlisle as 24th Medium Regiment RA with 2, 51 and 128 Bty's resus from pers of RHQ 59th Medium Regt RA and 113, 132 and 195 Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer. 

 

1956

England: Durranhill Camp, Carlisle with 2, 51 and 128 Med Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer. Jan moved to Wyvern Bks, Luneburg.

 

1957

Germany: Wyvern Bks, Luneburg with 2, 51 and 128 Med Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer. 

 

1958

Germany: Wyvern Bks, Luneburg with 2, 51 and 128 Med Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer. Moved to Assaye Bks, Nienburg. 20 Jan 76 Bty ex 30th HAA Regt joined the Regt, 51 & 128 Btys placed in suspended animation.

 

1959

Germany: Assaye Bks, Nienburg with 2 and 76 Med Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer.

 

1960

Germany: Assaye Bks, Nienburg with 2 and 76 Med Btys, 51 and 128 Med Btys, equipped with 5.5" Howitzer. A composite regt designated 24th Regt RA. 15 Sept retitled 24th Missile Regiment RA, 34 Bty (resus late of 12th LAA Regt RA) joined the Regt. Equipped with Honest John (34 Missile Bty) and 8” Howitzer (2 and 76 Hy Bty's).

 

1961

Germany: Assaye Bks, Nienburg with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (8” Howitzer)

 

1962

Germany: Assaye Bks, Nienburg with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (8” Howitzer). Jan moved to Barker Bks, Paderborn.

 

1963 - 1968

Germany: Barker Bks, Paderborn with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (8” Howitzer).

 

1969

Germany: Barker Bks, Paderborn with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (8” Howitzer). Hy Btys converted to M110?

 

1970 - 1971

Germany: Barker Bks, Paderborn with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (M110).

 

1972

Germany: Barker Bks, Paderborn with 34 and 51 Msl (Honest John), 2 and 76 Hy Btys (M110). 31 July 2 Hy Bty placed in suspended animation to resus 34 Bty from JLRRA. 1 Nov 34 Bty to 45th Medium Regt RA. Nov moved to Ubique Bks, Dortmund. 20 Nov 19 Bty ex 39th Missile Regt RA, joined the Regt, later had a HQ Bty.

 

1973 - 1974

Germany: Ubique Bks, Dortmund with 19, 51 and 76 Btys.

 

1975

Germany: Ubique Bks, Dortmund with 19, 51 and 76 Btys. 51 Bty to 50 Regt.

 

1976

Germany: Ubique Bks, Dortmund with 19 and 76 Btys.

 

1977

Germany: Ubique Bks, Dortmund with 19 and 76 Btys. Mar Regiment placed into Suspended Animation.  76 Bty moved to 26 Regt, 19 Bty moved to 50 Regt.
