1947

Artillery School, Deolali – the RA Depot of India. 1 April RHQ 28th Field Regiment Royal Artillery was re-titled RHQ 14th Field Regiment RA, with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys redesignated from 1 Fld Bty, 5 Bty of 5/57 Fld Bty and 3 Fld Bty respectively. 21 April moved from Deolali to Karachi. 27 Oct embarked on the SS Orbita at Karachi. 17 Nov arrived in Liverpool, proceeded to No 4 AFV Depot Cambridge where all ranks were paid up and proceeded on disembarkation leave.

 

1948

England: On leave in UK or No 4 AFV Depot Cambridge. 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 18 Feb moved to Old Park Bks, Dover.

 

1949

England: Old Park Bks, Dover with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 9 August embarked at Liverpool on HMT Lancashire for Hong Kong. 12 Sept arrived at Hong Kong and moved to Gun Club Bks. Moved to Sek Kong in the New Territories and joined 28th Bde, 40th Div.

 

1950

Hong Kong: Sek Kong, New Territories with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys.

 

1951

Hong Kong: Sek Kong, New Territories, Hong Kong with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 14 Oct advance party moved from Hong Kong to Korea. 2 Nov main body sailed on HMT Empire Pride arriving Pusan on 5 Nov. 8 Nov took over the gun positions of 45th Field Regt RA.

 

1952

Korea with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 25 Dec handed over to 20th Field Regt RA. 29 Dec embarked at Pusan on HMT Empire Pride and sailed for Hong Kong.

 

1953

At sea with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. Jan arrived back in Hong Kong and moved into Quay Camp, New Territories, Hong Kong.

 

1954

Hong Kong: Quay Camp, New Territories with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys.

 

1955

Hong Kong: Quay Camp, New Territories with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 29 Dec moved out of Quay Camp and into Chatham Road Transit Camp, Kowloon.

 

1956

Hong Kong:

Chatham Road
Transit Camp, Kowloon with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 4 Jan embarked on HMT Empire Fowey. 30 Jan arrived at Southampton and went on leave. Moved into Barford Camp, Barnard Castle.

 

1957

England: Barford Camp, Barnard Castle with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys.

 

1958

England: Barford Camp, Barnard Castle with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. Oct 5 Bty to Aden.

 

1959

England: Barford Camp, Barnard Castle with 1, 5 (Aden) and 13 Fld Btys. Oct 1 Bty relieved 5 Bty in Aden.

 

1960

England: Barford Camp, Barnard Castle with 1 (Aden), 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 14 September embarked at Southampton on HMT Oxfordshire. 29 Sept docked at Aden, where 1 Bty rejoined the regiment having been relieved by ‘C’ Bty RHA. 11 Oct disembarked at Kowloon, Hong Kong and moved direct to Sek Kong Camp and took from 49th Regt RA.

 

1961

Hong Kong: Sek Kong Camp with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys.

 

1962

Hong Kong: Sek Kong Camp with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. June moved to Horseshoe Bks, Shoeburyness.

 

1963

England: Horseshoe Bks, Shoeburyness with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. May moved to West Riding Bks, Dortmund, Germany.

 

1964 - 1966

Germany: West Riding Bks, Dortmund with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys.

 

1967

Germany: West Riding Bks, Dortmund with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. June moved to Weeton Camp, Preston. 19 Jun retitled 14th Light Regiment Royal Artillery.

 

1968

England: Weeton Camp, Preston with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. May moved to Terendak Camp, Malaya. 13 Bty moved from Weeton Camp, Preston to Sharjah.

 

1969

Malaya: Terendak Camp with 1, 5 and 13 Fld Btys. 10 July 13 Bty moved from Sharjah to 49th Field Regiment RA at Larkhill, Regt soon had a HQ Bty. Nov moved to Weeton Camp, Preston.

 

1970

England: Weeton Camp, Preston with 1 and 5 Fld Btys

 

1971

England: Weeton Camp, Preston with 1 and 5 Fld Btys. 31 July RHQ disbanded, 1 Bty Independent (to ANZUK Fld Regt 9/7). 5 Bty to 19th Field Regiment Royal Artillery. Placed in suspended animation.

 

1984

3 Dec - Reformed at Larkhill as 14th (Field) Regiment Royal Artillery, with 1st (MT) Bty, Headquarter Bty 132 Bty (The Bengal Rocket Troop) and 176 (Abu Klea) Bty as the support Regiment for the Royal School of Artillery.

 

1985 - 1992

England: School of Artillery, Larkhill with 1, 132 and 176 Fld Btys

 

1993

England: School of Artillery, Larkhill with 1, 132 and 176 Fld Btys. Re-titled 14th Regiment, Royal Artillery.

 

1994 - 1999

England: Stirling Barracks, School of Artillery, Larkhill with 1, 132 and 176 Fld Btys

 

2000

England: Stirling Barracks, School of Artillery, Larkhill with 34 (Seringapatam) Battery, 1 Headquarters Battery and 24 (Irish) Battery Royal Artillery

 

2001 -

England: Stirling Barracks, School of Artillery, Larkhill with 1, 132 and 176 Fld Btys
